The Spurs thrashed Aston Villa 4-0 in their last game while Sunderland claimed a surprise win over reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City in their last game. Both sides are in superb form with Spurs only losing one of their last 7 games and keeping clean sheets in their last 3 games while Sunderland have won 3 of their last 4 games, moving them 7 points above the relegation zone.

Sunderland will be without left-back Danny Rose, who is on loan from Tottenham, as he is ineligible to play against his parent club.
Both Clint Dempsey and Tom Huddlestone are available for Tottenham but both are likely to be on the bench as Andre Villas-Boas sticks with the team that thrashed Aton Villa 4-0.
Left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto could make his long-awaited comeback from a knee injury but is likely to be on the bench as Andre Villas-Boas looks to ease him back into the first team. Midfielder Mousa Dembele is a doubt with a hip problem but if Mousa Dembele is unavailable for the game, Scott Parker might start.
