Alam Shah and two other Lions teamates decide to leave the S-League to join the Indonesia Super League
Singapore Lions striker NOH Alam Shah will leave Singapore on Monday to join Indonesia Super League side Arema Malang, and tells the S-League- wake up. He says that he wants to leave because of the sterile crowds in the S-Leauge, the poor refereeing, and the bad treatment of players. He says, "When I arrived in Indonesia, the Customs officer recognised me even before he looked at my passport. In Malang, I'm mobbed by fans everywhere I go. I feel like a millionaire, a proper footballer." He moans about the S-League's poor average attendance of 2,500 last year compared to Arema Malang's average of 30,000. He says, "It is terrible to see empty stadiums. The standard of football in Singapore has dropped. The quality of foreign players has dropped...... I have lost all motivation. I hope somebody will do something to make the S-League rise again and not cover things up." Two more Lions, centre backs Baihakki Khaizan and Precious Emuejeraye will leave Singapore to join the Indonesia Super Leauge. Geyland United's Baihaki will join Persija and Emuejeraye will join Palembang's Sriwijaya. I am sad to see them leave because my family and I were planning to watch Tampines Rovers (to see Alam Shah and his other Lions team mates) play against Super Reds.
