Match Reports
England 0-0 Algeria Report (Gp C
Wow! England supporters, be prepared for the worse. After a draw with Algeria at Cape Town, they have only 2 points and they hae scored only 1 goal, sitting at 3rd place in Group C. If they lose or draw to Slovenia in the next game, they will be eliminated! I do not know why so many people in Singapore think so highly of the England squad. They dominated most of the match but Algeria, ranked 22 places below Capello's men in the FIFA World Ranking, did not allow them to score. Robert Green was replaced by David James in front of goal and James Milner was replaced by Gareth Barry. England's passing was more accurate than in the last match, and captain Steven Gerrard had the game's first chance, when he dipped a shot which created a corner. Barry's corner was headed by Emile Heskey, but his header was not directed towards the goal. The England fans were so frustated that they booed Lampard after he made a lousy effort close to the end of the match.
