Black Cat Misery

Everton 2-0 Sunderland
English Premier League Gameweek 28
Match Report
Sunderland have not won a match in Goodison Park since 1996, and that trend continued yesterday. Lean Osman found space on the edge of the box and slipped it to Saha. However, Saha allowed Jermaine Beckford to dash through and fire a shot which Sunderland defender Titus Bramble deflected in. Sunderland were close to a goal but goalkeeper Tim Howard made a magnificent finger-tip save to prevent Stephane Sessegnon from striking. Everton doubled their lead just 6 minutes before the break after Arteta dashed past Ferdinand and John Mensah to deliver Beckford the ball, who slotted it into the bottom corner of the net.
Match Quotes
David Moyes said, "I thought we did a good job today, we were in control for most periods I'm maybe a bit disappointed that we didn't add to our tally. I though we might have scored more goals vut overall we won 2-0 and I've not been able to say that too often in the Premier League this season. Thankfully we got those important points."
Steve Bruce said, "We were 2nd best all afternoon. Defensively we were very poor and if you don't do the basics you're going to come unstruck. I didn't see them do much but if you get 2-0 up it's game over, usually, in the Premier League.
