Christmas "Carroll"?

CHRISTMAS "CARROLL"?Exclusive Article
by Senior Editor Wong Yang and Assistant Editor Shaun Lee
"It's not about United and Liverpool at all - it's nothing to do with that. This is an individual situation where one person was racially abused," said Alex Ferguson. He also commented that the Football Association was "right to ban Suarez". Liverpool have been criticised by many for their staunch defence of Suarez. Liverpool players wore T-shirts with Suarez's name and number on the back, in support of their Uruguayan teammate. Liverpool are expected to appeal against the 8-match ban, even though they risk having the ban extended.

Liverpool fans online are seen calling Patrice Evra, the player who was supposedly racially-abused by Suarez, a "mama's boy". Some call the English FA the worst "hypocrites". Manchester United fans online fight back, saying Suarez is a "racist" and that he should be given something more than an 8-match ban.

If Suarez's ban is upheld, it means that Andy Carroll could be playing in his place. Carroll, who has failed to impress this season and scored just five goals, might get an opportunity to play the Christmas match against Blackburn on Monday. The striker arrived at Liverpool with an injury and never played until the Manchester United game as a substitute. His fitness has been a problem for Liverpool, and he needs a strong partnership with Suarez to thrive. Will Carroll be singing his Christmas ""Carroll" this Christmas?
