Three goals in a stunning first-half performance by the Lions saw them grab the three points, and their eighth successive win at the Jalan Besar Stadium. A play between Hariss Harun and Faris Ramli eventually allowed Ramli to find captain Sharil Ishak. With a quick turn, Sharil Ishak drilled home the ball for the opening goal of the evening. The LionsXII continued to press on, but it was poor defending that led to the second goal. 21 year-old Shakir Hamzah, sent the ball in with a header as he was unmarked. The goal marked the defender's first time on the LionsXII score sheet. Set-pieces proved to be the nightmare for T-Team, for it was another corner that materialised into the home team's third and final goal. Fazrul Nawaz reached the ball in the air, beating his defender to send the crowd wild.
After the break, T-Team were determined to get back on their feet, but Boateng's ambitious header hit the crossbar. It seemed the LionsXII had scored a fourth goal when Faris Ramli kicked in a creative pass from captain Sharil, but the goal was ruled offside by the linesman.
Overall, it was a convincing win for V. Sundramoothy's men, who now regain their position in the first position of the table as they continue their good run of form at home.
