Half-Time: The half-time whistle by Howard Webb, a 19th minute goal by Van Persie gives United the lead as both teams head to the dressing room.
45+2- Lucas picks up a Yellow card after catching Young's leg on a challenge.
45min- Kagawa knocked into Reina's elbow along his charge. Stoppage to the game while he receives treatment.
44min- Liverpool survive yet another United onslaught. This time, by Robin van Persie receives a deflection by Reina when the goalkeeper makesa save. RVP back heels it towards to goal but Skrtel clears it away from the goal line. Kagawa charges in from the left but his attempt to put the catch the rebound is in vain.
40min- Another shaky moment for Liverpool when Young's cross is eventually headed into path of Cleverley. Cleverley's powerful strike sends the ball just inches past the far post. Good effort.
38min- Gerrard receives the ball from Suarez on the edge of the box, but the return pass is no good. Goal-kick to United.
36min- Suarez finally gets a shot off but it's really wide. United arguably dominating the match now. Things aren't looking good for Brendan Rodgers.
32min- Allen makes a careless mistake, but his teammate prevents United from doubling their lead. Ashley Young coming on into the game now.
31min- Young has walked off the pitch, but no sub has come on for now.
26min- Young lies motionless on the ground after a collision with Agger. Looks like a knoc on the right-knee.
24min- Suarez has been quiet, Liverpool not being able to thread the passes in to him.
22min- A poor pass from Gerrard gives RVP another chance to pounce but the Reds skipper makes up for his mistake with a well-timed challenge.
18min- Robin van Persie GOAL! Great interplay between Cleverley and Welbeck just outside the left side of the Liverpool box, and Evra receives it on the left. He looks up and spots the most tiniest of gaps and slips it through to Van Persie who curls it first time beyond Reina. Goal United.
10min- Good delivery by Gerrard from a free-kick, but Vidic heads it away.
8min- The Red Devils looking more dangerous on the attack. Corners, long balls played into the box, the Liverpool defence has certainly been busier. Kagawa fouls Sterling after an Ashley Young corner.
5min- United more alert on the counter, but Liverpool look confident against a team 21 points above them.
4min- Kagawa speeds down the left, trying to find RVP but his cross is knocked away into Reina's arms.
