Tampines Rovers 1
(Choa Chu Kang Stadium, 17 May)
Aleksandar Duric scored the only goal in front of 3,396 fans against his former club, SAFFC. But the Great Eastern-Yeo S-League match didn't live up to expectations to be the biggest clash of the season. Instead, there were many poor first touches and lousy passes. Luckily, Duric proved to be
the shining light as he led the Stags's attack at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium.
The 39-year old scored in the 89th minute and showed the Warriors what they were missing. A pass from Croissant to Duric was converted into a low left-footed shot under SAFFC goalkeeper Hassan Sunny. Describing his feelings, Duric said,"I was thinking, hopefully, we will win the three points. Nothing more. I have nothing against SAFFC. I had a great time there, but nobody stay at one club forever. I wish them all the best."a
The three points Duric gave the Stags put them ahead of second-placed Etoile by seven points.
Fourth-placed Singapore Armed Forces FC now trailampines by 13 point, although they still have two matches in hand over them. SAFFC coach Richard Bok said,"We fizzled out in the second half."
